Explanation:
1. This is done in accordance with Article 38, Paragraph 1 and Paragraph 4 of the "Act Governing Relations Between Peoples of the Taiwan Area and the Mainland Area."
2. Travelers or transportation employees who carry more than Six Thousand (6,000) Renminbi ("RMB") when departing or arriving the Taiwan Area must report same to customs officers; amounts over Six Thousand RMB (RMB 6,000) must be deposited by such persons with customs and may be retrived upon departing the country.
3. The limits on the amount of RMB that may be carried into or out of the country described above shall not count towards the annual limit on the amount of foreign currency such person may carry into or out of the country.
4. The regulation described herein shall go into effect as of March 1, 2004.
